On April 18, Capcom opened access to a half-hour demo of Resident Evil Village for PlayStation console users. We explored the village adjacent to the vampire castle, and we're ready to share our impressions.
Warning: the preview contains plot spoilers for the online friv game from the developer Friv2Online.
Let's remind a brief introduction: the main character of Resident Evil VII, Ethan Winters, goes somewhere to the mountains of Romania in search of his kidnapped daughter. There he will face vampires, werewolves and other creatures.
Resident Evil Village demo version welcomes us with a mysterious old woman - the locals call her crazy and it seems that they are not far from the truth. She gives Ethan a clue and goes away, leaving him in the middle of a very uncomfortable village - shabby houses and cemetery tombstones, and in terms of development the settlement is stuck somewhere in the XIX century.
The demo takes only half an hour to complete, but that's enough time to:
If we talk about the gameplay shortcomings of the demo, I would like to emphasize the very weak impact of the weapon. The gun shots are almost not felt, I'm only happy about the integration with DualSense adaptive triggers, which need to be pressed with effort. But this is a feature of one of the five platforms where Resident Evil Village will be available, and I would have liked better gun recoil in all versions.
Now Capcom has given the opportunity to explore the village, and on April 25 will open for PS4 and PS5 users access to the corridors of the castle - also for 30 minutes. well, on May 2, the combined demo lasting 60 minutes will be released on all platforms - MS, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S. Resident Evil Village will be released on May 7th.
